Hotel Black Car Service on Anna Maria Island

Seven miles of barrier island holding three separate towns, one road down the middle and three bridges on and off — two of which lift for boats. Nothing about getting to or from here is decided by distance.

One Road, Three Bridges

The geography is the whole operational story.

Anna Maria Island runs seven miles north to south and contains three municipalities — Anna Maria at the top, Holmes Beach in the middle, Bradenton Beach at the bottom. Gulf Drive is the road. Getting on and off means the Manatee Avenue bridge into Holmes Beach, the Cortez bridge into Bradenton Beach, or Longboat Pass from Longboat Key at the southern tip.

All three are drawbridges or bascules. When one opens for boat traffic the queue behind it has no alternative that is not several miles and another bridge, which is why every departure on this island is scheduled with margin rather than to a drive time.

  • Departures scheduled with bridge margin
  • Routing chosen on the day, not by habit
  • SRQ at roughly 30–40 min; TPA about 1h15
  • Atlantic and Sheltair SRQ FBO meets
The Trolley Does the Island

Which is why a hire car mostly sits still.

Manatee County runs a free trolley the length of Gulf Drive, stopping at the beaches, Bridge Street and both ends of the island. For the day-to-day of a beach holiday it is genuinely the right answer, and island parking is limited enough that a rental is a liability rather than a convenience.

What the trolley does not do is either airport, Cortez across the bridge, or a day in Sarasota. Those are the trips worth booking — and for most stays that is the entire list.

  • Airport legs at each end of the stay
  • Cortez fishing village dinner runs
  • Sarasota, the Ringling and St. Armands day trips
  • Late collections after Bridge Street evenings
After the Storms

Every property here was checked before it was listed.

Hurricanes Helene and Milton took a great deal of this island's lodging in 2024 and the recovery has been uneven — some properties reopened within months, others did not reopen at all. A hotel list assembled from memory would be wrong.

So the eleven below were each confirmed as trading in September 2026 before they got a page, and we dispatch to street addresses rather than to names, because rebuilt and rebranded buildings and out-of-date navigation data are a poor combination at eleven at night.

  • Only confirmed-operating properties listed
  • Dispatch by street address, not hotel name
  • Names re-checked before publication
  • Compass Hotel Anna Maria Sound reused, not duplicated

Every Anna Maria Island hotel we run black car service to.

Each property has its own page covering airport transfers, hourly hire and the particular things that make arriving there different. If yours is not listed, we almost certainly still serve it — book through the standard flow and tell us the address.

Airports & the Fleet

Which airport, and what turns up.

Every transfer runs in a Mercedes-Benz E 350 sedan or a GMC Yukon SUV with a professional chauffeur, with the flight tracked against the landing that actually happened. Private arrivals are met inside the FBO rather than at a kerb.

Max Luxury Limo is an independent chauffeur company and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a preferred provider for any hotel listed on this page.

FAQ

Anna Maria Island Hotel Black Car Service — FAQ

How long is the transfer from the airport to Anna Maria Island?
Roughly 30 to 40 minutes from SRQ and about an hour and a quarter from TPA in normal conditions. Both are approximations. The island is reached by three bridges and all of them lift for boat traffic, so departures are scheduled with margin rather than to a drive time.
Do we need to hire a car on Anna Maria Island?
For most stays, no. Manatee County runs a free trolley the length of Gulf Drive covering the beaches, Bridge Street and both ends of the island, and island parking is limited. A car is worth booking for the airport legs, a Cortez dinner and a Sarasota day trip — which is usually the whole list.
Which part of the island should we stay in?
Anna Maria at the north end is the quietest, with Pine Avenue and the City Pier. Holmes Beach in the middle is residential and central. Bradenton Beach in the south has Bridge Street, the restaurants and the most activity — and is the quickest end for a mainland run.
Are all the island hotels open after the 2024 hurricanes?
Not all of them, which is why every property listed here was individually confirmed as trading in September 2026 before it got a page. Helene and Milton took a great deal of the island's lodging and the recovery has been uneven.
Do you also cover Compass Hotel Anna Maria Sound?
Yes. It sits on the mainland side of the Manatee Avenue bridge and already has its own page in the Bradenton cluster, which it keeps — we list it here rather than creating a second page for the same hotel.
