Three quite different things fill hotels here. IMG Academy and the tournament circuit — the Premier Sports Campus, Benderson Park's regattas, the Pirates' spring training at LECOM Park — bring families and squads on fixture lists. Anna Maria Island brings beach holidays. And Lakewood Ranch, now one of the largest master-planned communities in the country, brings relocations and corporate travel.
Each has a different travel shape: sport is scheduled by someone else, beaches need drops and collections, and business needs hourly hire and an account. The hotels below split fairly cleanly along those lines.

One airport is fifteen minutes. The other is sixty.
Sarasota–Bradenton International sits just south of Bradenton and reaches most hotels here in 15 to 25 minutes. Tampa International is roughly an hour north on I-75 and I-275, and it is where the cheaper long-haul fares land.
That hour is the single most underestimated figure in this market. It matters twice on a trip and most on the outbound, when one incident on an interstate with no alternative becomes your entire margin. We schedule TPA legs with materially more room than the distance suggests.

Anna Maria is twenty minutes west, and has nowhere to park.
Anna Maria Island — Coquina Beach, Bradenton Beach, Holmes Beach and the pier at Anna Maria City — sits roughly twenty minutes west of central Bradenton over the Manatee Avenue bridge. It is one long thin island with a single main road and famously limited parking.
Driving onto it in season is the part of the day people remember badly. A drop at the beach and a collection at an agreed time removes the whole problem, and the collection moves if the day does.
