The Category

One operator for the whole cruise journey.

Port Tampa Bay is a record-breaking homeport — about 1.8 million cruisers in 2026 across three terminals, and nearly every sailing is a turnaround, so each voyage needs a transfer in and a pickup out. We run all of it: TPA and PIE airport transfers, terminal drop-offs, pre- and post-cruise hotel runs, and group and luxury service. And when your ship sails from Port Canaveral instead, we run the long-haul east too.

  • Airport → terminal on embarkation morning
  • Terminal → airport or hotel on disembarkation
  • Group, family and celebration cruise parties
  • Long-haul Tampa → Port Canaveral (Disney & mega-ships)
The Two Ports

Port Tampa Bay, and the one your ship might actually use.

Port Tampa Bay has three active cruise terminals — Terminal 2 at 651 Channelside Drive, Terminal 3 at 815 Channelside Drive and Terminal 6 at 1333 McKay Street — all of them in downtown Tampa, minutes from the hotels and about eight to ten miles from Tampa International. Assignments rotate by ship and sailing date, so your own cruise documents are the only reliable source for which one is yours. The exception is the ships that cannot get here: Disney Cruise Line and the tallest Royal Caribbean and Carnival vessels are too high for the Sunshine Skyway and sail from Port Canaveral on the Atlantic coast instead, roughly two and a half hours east. We run door-to-ship transfers to both.

  • Port Tampa Bay — Terminals 2, 3 and 6
  • Port Canaveral — Disney and the mega-ships
  • Terminal taken from your cruise documents
  • Long-haul door-to-ship runs east
Getting There

Airport to terminal, hotel to terminal, or all of it.

Three shapes cover almost every embarkation. Flying in on sailing day means a straight run from Tampa International to your terminal, timed to your boarding window. Flying in the night before — which every cruise line recommends and which Tampa makes easy, because the port is downtown — means an airport transfer, a hotel, and a short terminal run the next morning. And a full chain, from the arrivals hall through a pre-cruise hotel to the gangway, is one reservation with your flight tracked at one end and your boarding window at the other.

  • TPA → Port Tampa Bay on sailing morning
  • Hotel → terminal for the day-before arrival
  • TPA → hotel → terminal as one booking
  • PIE and SRQ arrivals covered too
Coming Home

The terminal, the city, and the flight.

Disembarkation releases several thousand people onto Channelside Drive within a couple of hours, which is the worst possible moment to be raising a car. A booked pickup is held against the ship’s actual arrival. And because Port Tampa Bay is downtown, the half day between clearing the terminal and an afternoon flight is genuinely usable — the aquarium is walking distance, the Riverwalk and Water Street are minutes away, Ybor City is a short hop east, and the luggage stays in the vehicle for all of it before we take you to the airport.

  • Terminal → TPA, timed to your flight
  • Terminal → Tampa attractions and dining
  • Luggage stays in the vehicle all day
  • Ship tracked, so an early docking moves the pickup
Families & Groups

A week of luggage, and more than one vehicle.

Cruise luggage is the largest luggage most people ever travel with — a week or more of cases, formal nights and carry-ons, multiplied by a family. We size the vehicle from the real passenger and bag count at booking, which is why the SUV is the default recommendation here even for two people. Beyond one vehicle, a party runs as two SUVs on a single reservation, dispatched together so nobody stands on the pavement waiting for the second car, and the chauffeurs hand every bag to the porters at the terminal rather than leaving it kerbside.

  • GMC Yukon SUV as the default cruise vehicle
  • Two-SUV group transfers on one reservation
  • Bags handed to the terminal porters
  • Child seats arranged in advance from the ages you give us
Why Chauffeured

Skip the parking, the shuttle and the surge.

Port self-parking runs roughly $15–30 a day — well over $100 for a week, with your car left in a garage the whole cruise. The cruise line shuttle is shared and multi-stop; rideshare surges on Saturday sailing mornings. A private chauffeur is a fixed price, meets you with your name, handles every bag, and drives direct to your terminal — then does it in reverse when you dock.

How Booking Works

From booking to boarding.

01

Send us the sailing

Ship, sailing date, terminal from your cruise documents, and your boarding window. If you are flying in, the flight number too — that is what we hold the timing against.

02

We size the vehicle

From the real passenger and luggage count, not an optimistic one. Where one vehicle will not honestly do it, we book two on the same reservation rather than having that conversation on sailing morning.

03

Both legs, one booking

Nearly every Tampa sailing is a turnaround, so most guests book the terminal drop and the return pickup together. The return is held against the ship’s actual arrival.

04

Door to gangway

Your chauffeur handles the bags from your door to the terminal porters, and delivers you to the terminal your documents name — not the one the ship used last season.

FAQ

Tampa Cruise Port Transportation — FAQ

How far is Tampa airport from the cruise port, and how long is the transfer?
Port Tampa Bay is about 8–10 miles from Tampa International Airport (TPA) — roughly a 15–25 minute drive down I-275 to the Channelside terminals. It is the closest major cruise-feeder airport in Florida, which makes a chauffeured transfer fast, fixed-price and easy on embarkation morning.
Which cruise terminals does Port Tampa Bay have?
Three active cruise terminals in the Channelside / Ybor Channel district: Terminal 2 (651 Channelside Dr), Terminal 3 (815 Channelside Dr) and Terminal 6 (1333 McKay St). Assignments rotate by ship and sailing date, so always confirm your terminal in your cruise documents — we deliver you to the right one.
Can you handle round-trip embarkation and disembarkation transfers?
Yes — nearly every Tampa sailing is a turnaround, so most guests book both legs: a transfer to the terminal on embarkation day and a pickup when the ship returns. One reservation covers both, and your chauffeur tracks the ship so the return pickup adjusts if you dock early or late.
What if my cruise sails from Port Canaveral instead of Tampa?
Disney Cruise Line and the largest Royal Caribbean and Carnival mega-ships are too tall for the Sunshine Skyway and sail from Port Canaveral, about 2.5 hours east. We run door-to-ship long-haul transfers from anywhere in Tampa Bay to Port Canaveral — see our dedicated Tampa to Port Canaveral page.
Why book a private car instead of the cruise shuttle or rideshare?
A private chauffeur meets you, handles the luggage, drives direct with no shared stops, and gives you a fixed price with no embarkation-morning surge. The cruise line shuttle is shared and multi-stop; rideshare surges on Saturday sailing mornings and cannot guarantee a vehicle for a group with bags. For families and groups, private is the calm option.
What is the difference between an airport-to-port transfer and a full concierge booking?
An airport-to-port transfer is one leg: Tampa International to your terminal, timed to your boarding window. A concierge booking is the whole chain — arrival, a pre-cruise hotel leg, the terminal drop, and the pickup when the ship returns — held by one operator with your flight and your ship both tracked. Families and groups usually want the second; a couple flying in the morning of a Monday sailing usually wants the first.
Can you take us from the cruise terminal into Tampa for the day?
Yes, and it is one of the better uses of a disembarkation morning. Ships dock early and most flights leave in the afternoon, which leaves a usable half day — and the terminals are in downtown Tampa, so the aquarium, the Riverwalk, Water Street and Ybor City are minutes away. We hold the luggage in the vehicle and take you to the airport afterwards.
How do you handle a family or a group with a week of luggage?
By sizing the vehicle from the actual passenger and bag count at booking rather than at the kerb. A GMC Yukon SUV takes a family and its cruise luggage; a larger party runs as two SUVs on one reservation, dispatched together so nobody is waiting for the second car. Cruise luggage is bigger than the same people’s conference luggage, and we plan for that.
