Port Tampa Bay’s cruise terminals sit on and around Channelside Drive, on the eastern edge of downtown Tampa where the channel cuts in from the bay. From Tampa International it is roughly eight to ten miles — typically a fifteen to twenty-five minute drive down the interstate to the Channelside district. There are three active cruise terminals: Terminal 2 at 651 Channelside Drive, Terminal 3 at 815 Channelside Drive, and Terminal 6 at 1333 McKay Street. Assignments rotate by ship and sailing date, so your own cruise documents are the only reliable source for which one is yours.

Baggage Claim, Level 1 of the Main Terminal
TPA is one Main Terminal connected to four satellite airsides by shuttle. You ride your airside’s shuttle back, come down to Baggage Claim on Level 1, and your chauffeur is there with a sign showing your name.
Red side or Blue side, decided by your airline
Baggage claim at TPA is split Red and Blue by carrier, with ground transportation tied to the same split. Your confirmation tells your chauffeur which side to meet you on, so there is no phone call and no walking the length of the hall.
They park and walk in — no kerbside circling
Curbside space at TPA is for active loading only. Your chauffeur parks and comes inside rather than looping the terminal or sitting in the cell phone lot waiting for a call.

Complimentary wait time is measured from actual landing rather than from your scheduled time. International arrivals clear U.S. Customs at Airside F, which is the least predictable part of any arrival, so those get 90 minutes.
Your luggage goes straight into the vehicle
The chauffeur handles the bags from the carousel to the boot. There is no shuttle bay, no second handling, and no walk to a rental car centre — which at TPA is a separate building reached by its own train.

The three terminals
Terminal 2 (651 Channelside Drive), Terminal 3 (815 Channelside Drive) and Terminal 6 (1333 McKay Street) are the active cruise terminals. They are close together but they are not interchangeable, and assignments rotate by ship and sailing date — confirm yours on your cruise documents.
Where the port sits in the city
Unusually for a cruise port, this one is downtown. The Channelside district, Water Street, Sparkman Wharf, the aquarium and the Riverwalk are all walking distance from the terminals, which is why a pre-cruise night in Tampa is a genuinely good idea rather than a chore.
When the ship is not in Tampa
Disney Cruise Line and the tallest Royal Caribbean and Carnival ships sail from Port Canaveral on the Atlantic coast, because they cannot pass under the Sunshine Skyway. If your documents say Canaveral, this is a different and much longer transfer — we run it, but book it as its own journey.
Going back to the airport.
Nearly every Tampa sailing is a turnaround, so most guests book both legs at once — the transfer to the terminal on embarkation day and the pickup when the ship returns. The return is worth booking because disembarkation releases several thousand people onto Channelside Drive at once. We track the ship, so an early or late docking moves the pickup rather than stranding it.
