Moffitt’s main Magnolia campus is on the USF campus in north Tampa, about 16 miles from Tampa International (TPA) via I-275 north toward the Fletcher Avenue / Fowler area — roughly a 25–30 minute drive in normal traffic. Most Moffitt patients arrive from out of town, so the airport-to-campus transfer is the first leg: met at baggage claim, luggage handled, and driven straight to the correct campus entrance rather than the wrong building.

Tampa General from TPA — ~9 miles, 15 minutes, on Davis Islands.

Tampa General Hospital sits on Davis Islands just south of downtown, about 9 miles from TPA — usually a 15-minute drive. The hospital is on an island reached by a single bridge, so drop-off and parking can bottleneck; a chauffeur who knows the campus entrances and valet points gets you to the right door without circling. It’s also the region’s leading transplant and academic center, so many arrivals are out-of-town patients and families.

Johns Hopkins All Children’s — 15–20 min from PIE, ~27 min from TPA.

Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital is in downtown St. Petersburg. St. Pete–Clearwater International (PIE) is closest at roughly 15–20 minutes; Tampa International (TPA) is about 27 minutes across the bay and usually offers more flight options, so many families fly into TPA and transfer straight to the hospital or their St. Pete hotel. As a pediatric destination it draws families from around the world, often for extended stays.

Patient & partner hotels — and the limited-shuttle gap.

Hospitals maintain partner and preferred hotels for patients and families — Moffitt lists options along the north Tampa / Fletcher Avenue corridor such as Residence Inn Tampa North and Hampton Inn & Suites Tampa North, and near Tampa General the Water Street luxury hotels (JW Marriott Tampa Water Street, Tampa Marriott Water Street, Tampa EDITION, Grand Hyatt Tampa) are within reach. The gap: hotel and hospital shuttles run limited, fixed loops on set times, rarely matching a real appointment schedule — which is why a standing daily private transfer fills the space between hotel and campus.

Wait-and-return for recurring appointments.

For treatment days, wait-and-return means the chauffeur stays on-site during the appointment and drives you back when you’re ready — no arranging a fresh ride afterward, and no gamble on rideshare availability when you’re tired. Because appointment lengths vary, holding the car is more reliable than a scheduled pickup. For recurring visits we set up a standing reservation, often with the same chauffeur, so the daily trip becomes routine.

The Rule · 06

The Florida discharge rule — you can’t Uber home after sedation.

On the logistics level: Florida surgery centers and hospitals will not discharge a patient who received sedation or anesthesia to a rideshare or taxi alone. They require a pre-arranged, responsible transport that is expected and named. A booked chauffeur satisfies that — expected at the discharge desk, under your name, helping from the door to a calm ride home. Confirm your facility’s exact policy with your care team; the transportation piece is what we arrange.

Honest Referral · 07

Wheelchair-van / NEMT needs — an honest referral.

Being straight about scope: we are ambulatory-luxury only. We serve people who can travel seated, in a private sedan or SUV, with a chauffeur who helps to the door. We are not a Medicaid non-emergency medical transport (NEMT), ambulette, wheelchair-van or stretcher service, and we don’t pretend to be. If you need wheelchair-accessible transport, stretcher transport, or clinical medical transport, we’ll refer you to a specialized medical-transport partner so you get the right vehicle and trained staff.
