The Sand

Quartz, not shell — which is why it stays cool.

Siesta Beach's sand is almost pure quartz rather than crushed shell, which is why it is startlingly white and why you can cross it barefoot at two in the afternoon. It is the reason the beach keeps taking the top spot in national rankings and the reason this stretch books out months ahead.

Practically, it means guests spend the day fifty yards from the door and want a car only at the ends of the trip and for the evenings. We schedule around that rather than assuming a hire car is doing the work.

  • Airport legs at each end of the stay
  • Siesta Key Village evenings with a booked return
  • Downtown Sarasota and St. Armands runs
  • Free Siesta Key Breeze trolley for the rest

02 / Two Bridges, One That Opens

Stickney Point lifts, and nothing else does.

Siesta Key is reached by Siesta Drive in the north and Stickney Point Road in the south. Stickney Point is a drawbridge: when it opens for boat traffic everything behind it stops, and the alternative is the length of the island and the other bridge.

SRQ is roughly 20 to 25 minutes in normal conditions and TPA about an hour and a quarter. Those figures hold when the span is down. We schedule departures assuming it might not be.

Which bridge, on the day

We route on the conditions rather than by habit. From the north end Siesta Drive is usually quicker; from Crescent Beach south, Stickney Point — unless it is up.

The Car & the Chauffeur

A detailed sedan or SUV, and a chauffeur who waits.

Every Tropical Beach Resorts transfer runs in a Mercedes-Benz E 350 sedan or a GMC Yukon SUV, cleaned before it leaves and driven by a chauffeur in coat and tie. Flights are tracked against the actual landing rather than the schedule, so a delay moves the pickup instead of costing you the car, and the driver meets you rather than texting a plate number from a garage.

  • Mercedes-Benz E 350 sedan — up to 3 passengers
  • GMC Yukon SUV — up to 6 passengers and luggage
  • Flight tracked; wait time built into airport pickups
  • One dispatch desk for multi-car and multi-day movements

Max Luxury Limo is an independent chauffeur company. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a preferred provider for Tropical Beach Resorts.

FAQ

Tropical Beach Resorts Black Car Service — FAQ

Do you provide black car service to Tropical Beach Resorts?
Yes. We run chauffeured black car transfers to and from Tropical Beach Resorts on Siesta Key — SRQ and TPA airport transfers, Siesta Key Village evenings, downtown Sarasota and St. Armands runs, and beach collections.
How long is the transfer from SRQ?
Roughly 20 to 25 minutes in normal conditions; TPA is about an hour and a quarter. Both assume the Stickney Point drawbridge is down — when it opens for boat traffic the only way round is the length of the island and the Siesta Drive bridge.
Do we need a hire car on Siesta Key?
Usually not. The beach is at the door, the Village is walkable from this end, and the free Siesta Key Breeze trolley runs the island. A car earns its place for the airport legs, evenings and a trip or two across to Sarasota.
What is special about the sand?
It is almost pure quartz rather than crushed shell, which makes it unusually white and keeps it cool enough to walk on barefoot in the afternoon. That is why Siesta Beach keeps taking the top spot in national beach rankings.
Can you collect us after an evening in the Village?
Yes, and booking the return with the outbound is worth it. Siesta Key Village is busy at night and car availability on a barrier island at closing time is limited.
