Beach House Suites is the Don CeSar's all-suite property, set directly on the Gulf a little north of the main hotel. Every unit has a kitchen, which is exactly why people book a week or a fortnight rather than two nights — and that changes the luggage, the shopping and the shape of the transport.
Arrivals here need the SUV more often than the sedan. Departures need loading time. And somewhere in between there is usually a grocery run, a dinner at the Don, and a day trip that nobody wants to drive back from.

02 / One Road On, One Road Off
Gulf Boulevard is the island, and in season it is full.
St. Pete Beach is a barrier island served by Gulf Boulevard and reached by the Pinellas Bayway. In February the Bayway backs up, and on a Saturday afternoon the boulevard itself does. A transfer that takes 25 minutes in October can take considerably longer in season.
We plan departures with that in mind rather than discovering it on the way to a flight, which in practice means leaving earlier than the map suggests and telling you why.
PIE is roughly 25–30 minutes; TPA roughly 40–50. Both are approximations, and both stretch in season when the Bayway is busy. We build the margin in rather than hoping.
