The short answer, before the detail.

The two destination resorts — Streamsong and Cabot Citrus Farms — are remote, have unreliable rideshare, and (at Cabot) no on-site rentals, so plan ground transport before you fly. The three close-in clubs — Innisbrook, Saddlebrook and TPC Tampa Bay — are 25 to 45 minutes from Tampa International and simpler to reach. The Concession, near Sarasota, is best reached from SRQ. Below, each resort gets its airport, real drive time and rideshare reality.

  • Remote: Streamsong, Cabot — pre-book, no return rideshare
  • Close-in: Innisbrook, Saddlebrook, TPC — 25–45 min from TPA
  • Sarasota side: The Concession — nearest to SRQ
  • Private jets: LAL for Streamsong, BKV for Cabot

Streamsong Resort

Bowling Green — remote by design.

Streamsong sits on reclaimed phosphate land in Bowling Green, Polk County, and the isolation is the point — three Top-30 courses (Red, Blue, Black) and The Chain with nothing around them. Tampa International (TPA) is about 90 minutes northwest and Orlando (MCO) about 90 to the northeast; Sarasota–Bradenton (SRQ) is roughly 1 hour 27 minutes. Rideshare does not reliably serve the property, so there is no dependable car waiting for your return — pre-booked chauffeur transfer is the norm. For private jets, Lakeland Linder (LAL) is the strong option.

  • TPA ~90 min · MCO ~90 min · SRQ ~1h27
  • No reliable rideshare — none waiting for the return
  • Private jet: Lakeland Linder (LAL)
  • Courses: Red, Blue, Black, The Chain

Cabot Citrus Farms

Brooksville — no rentals on property.

Cabot Citrus Farms brought the Cabot Collection to rural Hernando County, with the Karoo and Roost courses plus the short Squeeze and Wedge. From Tampa (TPA) it is 50 to 90 minutes depending on traffic, about 90 from Orlando (MCO), and roughly 75 from St. Pete–Clearwater (PIE). The resort does not offer on-site rental cars, and rideshare into and out of the area is unreliable, so a pre-arranged chauffeur is the standard arrival. Brooksville–Tampa Bay Regional (BKV) is the closest general-aviation field.

  • TPA ~50–90 min · MCO ~90 min · PIE ~75 min
  • No on-site rental cars
  • Unreliable rideshare in rural Hernando County
  • Private jet: Brooksville–Tampa Bay Regional (BKV)

Innisbrook Resort

Palm Harbor — the easy Copperhead run.

Innisbrook, the Salamander resort in Palm Harbor and home of the Valspar Championship on the Copperhead Course, is one of the easiest to reach. Tampa International (TPA) is 35 to 45 minutes and St. Pete–Clearwater (PIE) is closer still at 30 to 40. Rideshare from the airports works reasonably for arrival, though on tournament weeks and for the return leg a pre-booked car is far more dependable. Four courses — Copperhead, Island, North and South — make it a common base for a multi-round stay.

  • TPA ~35–45 min · PIE ~30–40 min
  • Rideshare workable for arrival
  • Home of the Valspar Championship
  • Courses: Copperhead, Island, North, South

The Concession

Lakewood Ranch — go from Sarasota.

The Concession, the Nicklaus–Jacklin club in Lakewood Ranch and 2026–28 host of the Senior PGA Championship, is a gated golf community east of Sarasota. Sarasota–Bradenton (SRQ) is the natural gateway at 25 to 35 minutes; Tampa International (TPA) is 55 to 70. Because it is private and gated, arrivals should be pre-arranged — there is no casual rideshare rank, and event weeks tighten access further. It pairs naturally with nearby Lakewood National for a Lakewood Ranch golf base.

  • SRQ ~25–35 min · TPA ~55–70 min
  • Gated community — arrivals pre-arranged
  • Senior PGA host, 2026 through 2028
  • Pairs with Lakewood National nearby

Saddlebrook & TPC Tampa Bay

Wesley Chapel and Lutz — closest to Tampa.

Two of the most convenient clubs sit just north of the city. Saddlebrook Resort in Wesley Chapel, with its Palmer and Rees Jones courses, is 30 to 35 minutes from Tampa International (TPA). TPC Tampa Bay in Lutz, a Bobby Weed PGA Tour design, is the closest major venue of all at 25 to 30 minutes from TPA. Both have workable airport rideshare, but for a group or an early tee time a pre-booked chauffeur is the calmer choice — and the natural pick when combining either with a downtown Tampa hotel base.

  • Saddlebrook: TPA ~30–35 min (Wesley Chapel)
  • TPC Tampa Bay: TPA ~25–30 min (Lutz)
  • Both workable by rideshare from TPA
  • Easy to pair with a downtown Tampa base

Choosing Your Ground Plan

Chauffeur, rideshare or rental — how to decide.

Match the transport to the resort. For Streamsong and Cabot, a chauffeur is effectively required — no reliable return rideshare, and no rentals at Cabot. For Innisbrook, Saddlebrook and TPC, rideshare covers a solo arrival, but a chauffeur wins for groups, early tees, tournament weeks and the club-to-club or club-to-dinner legs where rideshare thins out. A rental only makes sense if you want an independent car for the whole stay and do not mind driving after the round.

  • Remote resorts: chauffeur, effectively required
  • Close-in clubs: rideshare for solo, chauffeur for groups
  • Rental: only for full-stay independence

Tampa Bay Golf Transportation Guide — FAQ

What is the nearest airport to Streamsong Resort?
Tampa International (TPA) is the practical gateway to Streamsong, about 90 minutes northwest of the resort; Orlando International (MCO) is a similar 90 minutes to the northeast, and Sarasota–Bradenton (SRQ) is roughly 1 hour 27 minutes. Streamsong sits in remote Bowling Green, in Polk County’s reclaimed phosphate land, so all three airports involve a real drive. Rideshare does not reliably serve the property — there are no waiting drivers for the return — which is why arriving guests pre-book a chauffeur.
Can you get an Uber or rental car to Cabot Citrus Farms?
Cabot Citrus Farms in Brooksville is 50 to 90 minutes from Tampa (TPA), about 90 from Orlando (MCO) and roughly 75 from St. Pete–Clearwater (PIE). The resort does not offer on-site rental cars, and rideshare into and out of rural Hernando County is unreliable, so a pre-arranged chauffeur transfer is the standard way in. Brooksville–Tampa Bay Regional (BKV) is the closest general-aviation field for private arrivals.
Which Tampa golf resorts are easiest to reach?
The close-in resorts are the easy ones. Innisbrook in Palm Harbor is 35 to 45 minutes from TPA and just 30 to 40 from PIE. Saddlebrook in Wesley Chapel is 30 to 35 minutes from TPA. TPC Tampa Bay in Lutz is the closest of all at 25 to 30 minutes from TPA. These three have workable rideshare from the airport, though pickup back from the more remote clubs is less dependable.
What are the private-jet options for Tampa golf trips?
Beyond the commercial airports, two general-aviation fields matter for golf. Lakeland Linder International (LAL) is a strong private-jet option for Streamsong, and Brooksville–Tampa Bay Regional (BKV) is the closest field to Cabot Citrus Farms. Private arrivals at either — or at the FBOs at TPA, PIE and SRQ — get met planeside and driven straight to the resort, which is the fastest door-to-tee routing for a jet-in group.
Is a chauffeur necessary, or can I just drive myself?
You can drive to any of these resorts, but the remote ones — Streamsong and Cabot in particular — punish it: long rural approaches, no rideshare for the return leg, and no on-site rentals at Cabot. A chauffeur removes the navigation, the designated-driver problem after dinner, and the return-trip gamble. For the close-in clubs it is more about comfort and keeping a group together than necessity.
