Why Canaveral

Your ship sails from the Atlantic coast.

The Sunshine Skyway caps ship height into Port Tampa Bay, so Disney Cruise Line and the tallest Royal Caribbean and Carnival ships all homeport at Port Canaveral on the Atlantic side. From Sarasota that is a ~176-mile run — our longest Gulf-coast cruise transfer, and the one where a private chauffeur makes the biggest difference: nobody drives I-4 on sailing morning.

  • Disney Cruise Line — Canaveral only
  • Royal Caribbean & Carnival mega-ships
  • Direct routing, no shared-shuttle stops
  • Round-trip with ship-tracked return

The Transfer

Door-to-ship from the Suncoast.

We collect you from Sarasota, Lakewood Ranch, Longboat Key or Bradenton — or from Sarasota–Bradenton Airport — and drive direct to your Canaveral terminal. One vehicle keeps the family and the luggage together, and the fixed price means no sailing-day surge.

  • Pickup across the Sarasota / Manatee area
  • SRQ airport meet-and-greet available
  • Executive SUVs and 14-passenger Sprinters
  • Return pickup timed to the ship

Sarasota to Port Canaveral — FAQ

How far is Sarasota from Port Canaveral?
About 176 miles — roughly a 2 hour 50 minute drive up I-75 to I-4 and across the SR-528 Beachline, depending on Orlando traffic. It is the longest of our Gulf-coast cruise transfers, which is exactly why a private chauffeur beats self-driving on cruise morning.
Why sail from Port Canaveral instead of a Tampa Bay port?
Because Disney Cruise Line and the largest Royal Caribbean and Carnival ships are too tall for the Sunshine Skyway Bridge and cannot dock at Port Tampa Bay — they homeport at Port Canaveral. If you booked Disney or a mega-ship, the Cape is your port, and we run the door-to-ship transfer from Sarasota.
Is private car service worth it over a shuttle or rideshare?
On a nearly three-hour transfer, very much so. Shared shuttles are multi-stop and rarely serve Sarasota directly; rideshare is expensive and surges on sailing days with no guaranteed pickup. A private chauffeur is a fixed price, direct, handles the luggage, and keeps a family or group together the whole way.
Where in Sarasota can you pick us up?
Anywhere in the Sarasota, Lakewood Ranch, Longboat Key and Bradenton area — a resort, a private residence, or Sarasota–Bradenton Airport (SRQ). We build the departure time around your ship’s boarding window.
Do you provide the return trip after the cruise?
Yes. Book round-trip and we collect you at the Port Canaveral terminal when you disembark and drive back to Sarasota or your airport, tracking the ship’s arrival so the car is there when you clear customs.
