St. Pete Beach and Clearwater without the car park.
The Gulf beaches are the reason many families choose St. Petersburg, and beach parking in season is the reason some of them regret driving. St. Pete Beach is a straightforward run west; Clearwater Beach is further north and busier.
We drop at the beach and collect at an agreed time, which removes both the parking hunt at eleven in the morning and the slow crawl out at five. If the day runs long, move the collection — that is easier than finding the car again.
St. Pete Beach is closer and calmer; Clearwater Beach is bigger, busier and has more to do with children. Both are much more pleasant arrived at than parked at.
