The Birchwood · Beach Drive
Black Car Service to The Birchwood
A restored 1920s building on Beach Drive, looking straight across Straub Park to the water, with a rooftop that has become one of the addresses in St. Petersburg. Small, and busiest exactly when the street is hardest to park on.
The best street in the city to walk, and the worst to park on.
The Birchwood faces Straub Park and the yacht basin from the middle of Beach Drive, which puts the Museum of Fine Arts, the Dalí, the St. Pete Pier and a row of restaurants inside a few minutes on foot. It is a genuinely walkable address, and the hotel is small enough that it does not have a large forecourt to absorb arriving traffic.
Beach Drive is also narrow, metered, and full every evening. We do not circle it. The chauffeur arrives ahead of the booking, holds on a side street, and comes to the door when you are ready, which is the difference between a two-minute departure and a ten-minute one.
- Held off Beach Drive, brought to the door on request
- Luggage carried from the lobby, not the kerb
- Museum district and Pier evening runs
- Early departures for first-bank flights
02 / The Rooftop & Weddings
A small hotel that hosts large evenings.
The Canopy rooftop and the hotel's event rooms draw a crowd well beyond the guest count — receptions, rehearsal dinners and weddings where most of the party is staying somewhere else. The transport problem is therefore not the hotel's rooms; it is the forty people who need to get to Beach Drive at the same time and home again afterwards.
We run those as scheduled loops from the other downtown hotels and the airport rather than as individual bookings, so guests are not competing for cars at eleven at night on a street with nowhere to stop.
PIE is roughly 20–25 minutes away and often the quicker arrival. TPA is roughly 30–40 minutes across the Howard Frankland and carries most of the long-haul schedule. Both are approximate; the bridge is the variable.
PIE transfersThe Car & the Chauffeur
A detailed sedan or SUV, and a chauffeur who waits.
Every The Birchwood transfer runs in a Mercedes-Benz E 350 sedan or a GMC Yukon SUV, cleaned before it leaves and driven by a chauffeur in coat and tie. Flights are tracked against the actual landing rather than the schedule, so a delay moves the pickup instead of costing you the car, and the driver meets you rather than texting a plate number from a garage.
- Mercedes-Benz E 350 sedan — up to 3 passengers
- GMC Yukon SUV — up to 6 passengers and luggage
- Flight tracked; wait time built into airport pickups
- One dispatch desk for multi-car and multi-day movements
Max Luxury Limo is an independent chauffeur company. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a preferred provider for The Birchwood.
