Sarasota–Bradenton International sits just north of downtown, which makes the transfer from the Westin one of the shortest hotel-to-airport runs anywhere on this coast — roughly 10 to 15 minutes in normal traffic. It genuinely is that close.
The practical benefit is a later checkout and a calmer morning. The risk is the opposite: guests who fly into Tampa instead, for a cheaper fare, and discover the drive south is around an hour. Both are fine; they are just different mornings, and it is worth knowing which one you have booked.

The hotel sits within walking distance of Main Street, the Bayfront and the marina. The Van Wezel, Selby Gardens and the Sarasota Opera are all a short run, and the arts season keeps them busy from winter through spring.
What needs a car is the water: St. Armands Circle, Lido Beach and Longboat Key are all across the Ringling Causeway, and parking at St. Armands in season is a competitive sport. We drop and collect, which removes the entire question.
St. Armands Circle, Lido Beach and Longboat Key all sit over the bridge. Close, extremely pleasant, and genuinely difficult to park at between January and April.
