Everything reaching this beach crosses one bridge.
Clearwater Beach is reached over the Memorial Causeway, and on a clear weekend afternoon that bridge carries the entire island's traffic in both directions. The distance from the mainland is short; the time it takes is not a fixed number, and it is at its worst exactly when guests want to travel.
We treat the causeway as the trip rather than as an afterthought. Departures for a flight are scheduled from the bridge backwards, and the chauffeur crosses ahead of the booking so that the wait happens on the island rather than in the queue to reach it.
- Causeway crossing built into the departure time
- Chauffeur on the island before pickup
- Sunset-hour congestion planned around, not averaged
- Luggage handled at the hotel door
02 / Which Airport, and Why
PIE is twenty-odd minutes. TPA is the one with the flights.
St. Pete–Clearwater sits close by on the mainland and is comfortably the shorter transfer — for a guest whose routes work from PIE it is the easier arrival by some margin. Tampa International is further east and carries most of the connecting and long-haul traffic, so a good share of guests land there regardless.
Both run from the same desk, met inside the terminal, with private arrivals handled plane-side at the Sheltair or Signature FBO at PIE. Flights are tracked, so an early landing or a two-hour delay moves the pickup rather than wasting it.
Most guests here walk to dinner and need a vehicle twice: in and out. Booking the two airport legs and leaving the middle alone is usually the sensible shape for a beach stay.
Clearwater Beach hotel transportationThe beach on foot, the city by car.
Pier 60 and Beach Walk are walkable from this end of South Gulfview, and the nightly sunset gathering at the pier is the one fixed point in most stays here. None of that needs a car.
What does is the day across the bay — a Tampa dinner, a game, a meeting, or the run down to St. Pete Beach along the barrier islands. Those are scheduled as return trips with the car held, which is the difference between an evening out and a wait for a ride home at eleven.
- Tampa evening and event runs, both directions
- Barrier-island drives south toward St. Pete Beach
- Return leg held rather than rebooked
- Multi-stop days on a single booking
The Car & the Chauffeur
A detailed sedan or SUV, and a chauffeur who waits.
Every Edge Hotel Clearwater Beach transfer runs in a Mercedes-Benz E 350 sedan or a GMC Yukon SUV, cleaned before it leaves and driven by a chauffeur in coat and tie. Flights are tracked against the actual landing rather than the schedule, so a delay moves the pickup instead of costing you the car, and the driver meets you rather than texting a plate number from a garage.
- Mercedes-Benz E 350 sedan — up to 3 passengers
- GMC Yukon SUV — up to 6 passengers and luggage
- Flight tracked; wait time built into airport pickups
- One dispatch desk for multi-car and multi-day movements
Max Luxury Limo is an independent chauffeur company. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a preferred provider for Edge Hotel Clearwater Beach.
