Ybor City is Tampa's National Historic Landmark District — brick streets and wrought-iron balconies built in the 1880s-1900s around what was once the world's largest hand-rolled cigar industry, staffed heavily by Cuban, Spanish and Italian immigrant workers whose mutual-aid society buildings still stand today. More than 950 historic structures survive within the district.
